Rigid hull inflatables (RHI or RIB’s) are known industry wide as one of the most stable and safest platforms on the water. They have proven themselves to be a staple boat design for both the military as well as the United States Coast Guard. However in the event the inflatable
portion of the RHI is compromised and loses air, your boat loses a portion of its side sheet, a portion of its flotation, and displacement.
Daring to change the way the marine industry looks at rigid hull inflatables, Life Proof Boat’s is removing the majority of the main ingredient, the AIR. To replace one of man’s most important invisible gaseous substances comprised of a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen, Life Proof Boats is using closed cell polyethylene foam. Impervious to water and low in density (light weight), the foam core provides over 60 lbs of flotation per cubic foot and can be placed inside a closed air cell or wrapped with an independent air bladder. Typical ratios of air to foam within the system are 20% to 80% respectively.
But I haven’t described the best part yet.
