That’s according to a letter from a bipartisan group of US congressional representatives to federal budget negotiators regarding the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Port Security Grant Program (PSGP), which requests that its funding is provided at a level no less than $100m.
This is equal to FY17 funding and the FY18 level approved by the House of Representatives’ Committee on Appropriations, the letter stated.
In the communication, addressed to US politicians including Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi, the signatories said that PSGP “is a vital tool and funding source that supports security needs at our nation’s 361 maritime ports”. CLICK HERE TO READ FULL ARTICLE
